Surprise, surprise! Gateau celebrates the return of David Lawrence to Harmony Kingdom and the uncanny coincidences that lead to his reunion with Martin Perry. It was about the time of his daughter Roseís ninth birthday in February 2002 when the two crossed paths at the Spring Fair in Birmingham. And the final prototype of this delightful box figurine was approved around the time of younger daughter Katieís third birthday. To mark these happy coincidences, the artistís trademark acorn makes a surprise appearance as the interior carving.
